With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Derek brings a deep understanding of structural systems, project management, and craftsmanship to every project at D&S Custom Conversions.
Before founding the company in 2019, Derek served as a Project Manager for residential and commercial general contractors, overseeing projects from planning and design through execution and completion. That background shapes the way he approaches RV repair, custom fabrication, electrical systems, and full bus conversions today with structure, safety, and long-term durability in mind.
His experience spans framing, electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, fabrication, and system integration. Whether performing a structural roof repair, installing a lithium solar system, or building a fully customized bus conversion, Derek approaches each project with a builder’s mindset addressing root causes, reinforcing integrity, and focusing on reliability over shortcuts.
Derek is also a husband and father of two. His commitment to family and community influences how he runs his business with transparency, accountability, and a genuine desire to serve people well.

D&S Custom Conversions was founded in 2019 with a simple idea: build and repair adventure rigs the right way.
With over 20 years of construction experience, Derek combined his background in structural framing, project management, electrical systems, and fabrication to create a company focused on craftsmanship, integrity, and long-term reliability. What began with custom bus conversions has grown into a full-service shop supporting RV owners, travelers, and builders who want more than surface-level fixes.
Today, D&S Custom Conversions serves clients looking for professional repairs, solar upgrades, custom fabrication, and complete conversions all approached with a construction-first mindset.
